Armonia LARP Rules

The questions under this FAQ may still apply to the new rule system, but are more general, do not discuss specific skills, and may overlap with the previous rulebook.

• Items expire at 6pm (ie. reset) of the date listed for expiry. For example, if an item would expire on 05/20/2023, it would expire Saturday at 6pm.

• When a Magic Item expires that Armonia LARP provided the rep for, please return the item’s rep back to our Plot or Logistic Teams. This makes it easier for us to continue putting out items with good reps, as opposed to the alternative. As an aside, Armonia is always looking for donations of good item reps which will be rewarded with Goblin Points.

• There are sometimes random module cards out in the woods that will appear at random intervals during events, so we suggest regular patrols in order to see what’s up.

• White Headbands are used to show that a person is OOG. While In game you should ignore those wearing a white headband as though they were not there.

• Red Headbands may be seen throughout the weekend; treat anyone wearing one as OOG, UNLESS you: are also wearing one; have a “Spirit” classification Transform; or have it listed on your character card you can interact with them. 

• Yellow headbands: Mean "Non-Combat." This means that although that character exists in-game, you should under no circumstances hit someone wearing a yellow headband with a weapon. People wearing yellow headbands can be dropped by standing within weapons reach, pointing at them and stating "I drop you." 
• Blue Headbands: Those wearing a blue headband are called "Pages," similar to yellow headbands, blue headbands are Non-Combat. Blue Headbands are typically reserved for young/underage attendees who have come to the event with a parent/guardian. 

• Cabins & Other Sleeping Areas are considered IN-Game (IG), and IG events may occur within spaces. Thus, IG measures should be taken to prevent any unwanted intruders, or burglars. This being said, players & staff members should announce themselves or knock before entering so that anyone inside may announce that entering at this time would be inappropriate (i.e. Someone is changing).
•  At times, IG players may wish to enter unnoticed, such as in a case of theivery, they  inform a thievery marshal, who will scope out the space & determine whether anyone is inside, prior to entering. Marshals will be as subtle as possible about why they are scoping out a cabin to avoid unintentional metagaming/In-Game suspicion.
• Players who are planning to enter a cabin/sleeping area that does not belong to them, must be accompanied either by someone residing there or by a thievery marshal. If you are planning to steal/thievery this person must be a marshal. This is to ensure that OOG items are not stolen/disturbed, and that it is appropriate to enter.

• Under the bed and the bathrooms are OOG areas. Battles inside bathrooms are not permitted. And all items stored under your bed will be considered out of game. You should not store in-game items under your bed or mixed in with OOG items that you do not wish others to see (i.e. You might want to think twice before you hide your gold in your underwear).
• If you want to eat OOG, you should eat in an OOG location such as NPC camp. You may also eat OOG in the lower level of the tavern (we will attempt to have a table setup downstairs in the side area beside the Circles). Please do not eat OOG in the main room of the tavern. 
• Cabins/Sleeping areas are IN-Game. If you are OOG while in your sleeping area, you should make this clear to others in the same space and either refrain from OOG conversations or speak in a quiet voice. This is to help maintain an immersive atmosphere around players who are IG and avoid confusion as to whether a conversation being overheard is IG or OOG.

• When a Marshal tells you that Transforms activate (which are the only people that can tell you that your transforms activate), you can usually choose for your Transform to not activate. However, Marshals may at anytime overrule this and activate your transformation.  

• If you feel your character’s resurrection or the events that caused their resurrection were not handled appropriately please tell the Marshal present during your resurrection that you may be seeking an adjudication. Regardless of whether or not you choose to follow through, Armonia LARP requires that for an adjudication to occur the intent must be conveyed at the event. 

• If you need to leave a closed mod for any valid reason (Have to use the washroom, for example), talk with the marshal in charge of the module (ask an NPC, and they’ll tell you who it is). The marshal and you will then pick an appropriate target for you to tie your spirit off to (normally another PC of the closest level to you).

• IG Mail/Logistics Box: On the counter between Logistics and the main hall of the Tavern, there will be a mail receptacle and envelopes available. Once an object is sent into the mail system, it is no longer accessible in game.  If you wish to send in game mail, merely write your letter, seal it in an envelope with the recipient's name and deposit it into the box. If you need to perform any logistical actions (production, Formal cast, things added to cards), please fill out your request, put it into an envelope and deposit it into the mailbox. If your request is item creation related, please let Ian know as soon as you see him, so he can get it done at his earliest convenience and get you your tag(s).  

• Formal Magic Logistics at check in: If you wish, you may “precast” Formals before Friday night opening ceremonies. To qualify, the Formals must: have access to the appropriate scrolls all appropriate Guild Fees must be paid (scroll use, etc), not be plot related (no Dreamvisions/High Horoscopes for example), not be Circles created/targeted on site,  not be targeting an Outlaw, and is not being cast in Dark Territory. Assuming they meet all these requirements, once you have gone through check in and acquired your character sheet, find someone from the Logistics Team with your components, coinage (if appropriate), scrolls (if non Guild), and Formal caster so he can sign off on them. In the cast of Spirit Forges, a new card will be printed off for you as soon as possible. 

You will be required to bring your own dishes for the event, so don't forget to pack your mess kit! That being said, our site rules require that no dishes be abandoned or left to be washed by our kitchen staff. This is simply too heavy of a burden for our staff alone. Therefore it is required that everyone clean & put away their dishes immediately after using them. If your dishes are left abandoned & unwashed, they may be confiscated by kitchen staff, and you will have to ask for them back at the next meal. 

There is a designated fire pit. If you start a fire, it is the responsibility of the person who starts the fire to watch and entirely put out the fire (normally takes 2 buckets of water to do). Campfire watch & extinguishing duty can only be transferred if someone clearly communicates "I accept responsibility of the fire."

Please do not move fixtures such as mattresses and bed frames. If you must move something, let a  marshal know and move the fixture back at the end of the event. 

Don’t lock doors or chests belonging to the camp unless it is with an IG lock that has been approved by a thievery marshal. 

Please tidy and sweep you rooms & cabins, and fully pack up tenting sites after each event. It is our shared responsibility to keep the campground clean & free of garbage when we finish an event. If we are unable to restore the camp to the condition it was when our event began, we will not be able to continue renting our current campsite location.

The use of alcohol is not permitted at our events. Our staff has determined that it is unsafe to LARP while intoxicated. Furthermore, we feel that the consumption of alcohol may cause discomfort among our some members of our community. Therefore, we ask that you refrain from consuming alcoholic beverages at our events.

Cannabis Use 

While we recognize that some people may use Cannabis for medical purposes, THC Products should not be consumed before engaging in combat as this can create an unsafe environment. If you use THC products, you should either stay in an OOG area to rest/sleep or wear a yellow headband and engage only in roleplay activities. However, staff may at anytime ask you to step away to an OOG area if it is found that you are unable to conduct yourself in an appropriate manner, are causing an unsafe environment, or are disruptive to the event .

Smoking is permitted in a designated smoking area. Our smoking area is the the fire pit* (an in-game area, but you may smoke out of game by wearing a white headband).

Staff may at anytime ask someone to move to a designated area, or stop what they are doing, if they determine that someone is smoking in an area they should not. 

*Although some people may smoke Cannabis for medical purposes, it is not permitted at the Firepit due to known allergies onsite, and should only be used in outdoor, private areas away from the campground, any buildings, and other people (such as on the dirt road by the cars).
